11-year-old struck in hit-and-run in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Franklin Township Police Department said an 11-year-old boy was struck while walking on Oak Avenue at around 7:15 on Sunday. According to police, the driver, a 51-year-old male from Gloucester Township, was arrested and charged.

Paul Mensch is facing charges of assault by auto and other moving violations. He was released after being cited by police.

Police said they were able to capture Mensch using surveillance footage quickly.

The boy was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
