13-year-old girl’s body found washed up at Brooklyn Bridge Park

NEW YORK, NY – The body of a 13-year-old girl washed ashore and was found early Monday morning in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Police said the discovery was made at around 8:30 am near Pier 5 in the area of Furman Street.

According to police, a pedestrian located the girl’s body.

Polic said the girl’s identity is known but is not being released at this time. Detectives do not believe she was killed inside the park. At this time, her cause of death is unknown.
