BALTIMORE, MD – Two teenagers were arrested in relation to an armed carjacking case yesterday, thanks to the efforts of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) and Baltimore County Aviation.

The detectives, who were working on an auto theft initiative in the Southwest District, identified an occupied vehicle matching the description of one involved in a recent armed carjacking in the Southeast District. The vehicle was located on the 600 block of North Longwood Street around 10:10 a.m.

With aerial support, units tracked the vehicle to the 3400 block of West Lexington Street. A car stop was initiated, leading the driver and passenger to flee on foot. After a brief chase, detectives apprehended both individuals.

The suspects, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, were taken to the Juvenile Booking Intake Facility for processing and charging. The 16-year-old had previously been arrested for auto theft in August.

Authorities are investigating if the arrested teens are connected to other recent incidents in Baltimore.
