14-year-old boy taken into custody after multiple violent robberies in DC

Washington, D.C. — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with multiple robberies and an attempted assault in Southwest DC, officials said.

The juvenile suspect was taken into custody on March 12 following a DC Superior Court custody order. The charges stem from a string of incidents, including a Jan. 22 robbery in which a bicyclist was assaulted and had their bike stolen, a Jan. 29 robbery where a victim was threatened and forced to hand over property, and a Feb. 5 attempted robbery involving an assault.

Police previously arrested a 15-year-old suspect in connection with the Jan. 29 robbery. The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for tips leading to further arrests and indictments.
