17-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Suitland, Police Investigating

SUITLAND, Md. — Prince George’s County Police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 17-year-old on Friday afternoon. The victim has been identified as James Fitzgerald of Suitland.

The incident occurred on December 13, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3400 block of Pearl Drive. Upon arrival, they found Fitzgerald on a sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are working to establish a motive and identify any suspects involved in the shooting. Authorities have not released any further details about the circumstances of the incident.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives at 301-516-2512.
