Police are offering a $25,000 reward as detectives search for the gunman

WASHINGTON, DC — A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed inside a Northwest DC residence Sunday night, and police are now asking the public for help identifying the person responsible.

The shooting occurred at approximately 10:14 p.m. Sunday, July 26, in the 3500 block of 10th Street Northwest DC.

Responding officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. DC Fire and EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he died despite lifesaving efforts.

The victim was identified as Tavon Livingston, 17, of Northeast DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the homicide. No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive.
