Manhattan, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is seeking information regarding an assault that occurred in Manhattan earlier this week. An 18-year-old woman was attacked by an unidentified man on Monday evening in front of 24 West 25th Street.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 9:33 p.m. when the suspect approached the victim and struck her in the face with a book. The assault caused pain, bruising, and swelling to the victim’s nose. The man then fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound on West 25th Street. The victim did not require hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a male with a slim build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing gray shorts and white sneakers, and was holding a white T-shirt and a book inside his waist.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the attack.

“We are requesting anyone with information to contact the authorities as we work to identify and locate this individual,” the New York City Police Department said in a statement.
