$1M scratch off sold in Hyattsville leads Maryland’s biggest lottery wins of the week

A winning ticket sold at a Hyattsville liquor store topped a week that saw more than $30.5M paid out across Maryland

BALTIMORE, Md. — A $1M scratch-off ticket sold in Hyattsville led a wave of lottery wins across Maryland last week, with players claiming prizes ranging from $10K to seven figures and one Charles County player buying three separate $50K winning tickets.

The Maryland Lottery reported that 23 tickets worth at least $10K were sold statewide during the week of June 1 through June 7.

The largest prize was a $1M winner from the $1,000,000 Crossword scratch-off game. The ticket was sold at Chillum Wine & Spirits, located at 5813 Eastern Ave. in Hyattsville.

Another major winner emerged in St. Mary’s County, where a Red 5’s Doubler scratch-off ticket worth $100K was sold at Food Lion, 40955 Merchant Lane in Leonardtown.

Three scratch-off tickets worth $50K each were also sold during the week. Winning tickets came from retailers in Greenbelt, Grasonville and Hampstead.

The Maryland Lottery also highlighted a unique Pick 5 win in Charles County, where one player purchased three separate tickets that each won $50K in the June 5 drawing. All three winning tickets were sold at Lady’s Liquors on Crain Highway in La Plata and remained unclaimed as of June 8.

Other notable wins included:

  • A $30K Ms. PAC-MAN ticket sold in Upper Marlboro.
  • A $25K Gifts of Green ticket sold in Silver Spring.
  • Five separate $10K scratch-off winners sold in Hanover, Westminster, Lanham, Silver Spring and Timonium.

Draw game winners also included a $20K Mega Millions ticket sold in Essex and a $10K Keno ticket sold in Capitol Heights.

Lottery officials said total statewide winnings across all games exceeded $30.5M during the week.

Several prizes remained unclaimed as of June 8.
