SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ – A 2.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in Somerset County on Friday night, adding to a series of aftershocks that have been felt since a 4.6-magnitude quake on April 5. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the latest quake struck shortly after 10:00 PM, approximately 6 km west-southwest of Gladstone.

This recent activity is part of numerous aftershocks recorded by the USGS in the Somerset and Hunterdon counties, centered near towns like Califon, Whitehouse Station, and Lebanon. The initial 4.6-magnitude quake, which affected over 42 million people, was centered about 45 miles west of New York City and 50 miles north of Philadelphia.
