Fire Destroys Vacant Home in Millstone

MILLSTONE-On Wednesday, Millstone firefighters responded to a structure fire that completely destroyed an abandoned home.

Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire in an abandoned house on Millstone Road near Carrs Tavern Road. Firefighters arrived to find a vacant structure with a heavy fire burning through the roof.

Crews set up an exterior firefighting operation and established a water supply. The fire was contained the house without any extension to other nearby structures and is currently being investigated by the Monmouth County Fire Marshall’s office.

Monroe Township Fire District 2, Cassville Volunteer Fire Company of Jackson, Hope Fire Company and Suburban Chiefs Tanker force also responded to the fire.
