Cape Girardeau, MO – A 12-year-old boy dancing outside Michael Crank Curry’s Cape Girardeau based Fingerprint Urban Dance Studio was assaulted by a black male who jumped out of the car to punch the boy. The boy suffered a severe brain concussion and is recovering.

“This is a cowardly and disgusting act of inexcusable violence on one of our public streets”, said Cape Girardeau Police Department, Sgt. Joey Hann. “We would like to ensure that this suspect is safely apprehended.”

The studio was performing a sidewalk performance when the incident occurred. A black male exited a Honda CRV, pretended to dance, then sucker punched the boy from behind, before returning to his car.

“It’s a chance to showcase what we’re doing in a positive light, while giving kids a chance to perform and make some revenue off their passion,” Michael Crank Curry said. “Monetizing our craft is part of what we learn. Artists don’t always think about that.”
