TOMS RIVER, NJ – New Jersey Assemblyman Gregory P. McGuckin, who now serves in a controversial role as “Director of Public Law” for the township of Toms River, was once again a no-show at the Toms River Township council meeting. McGuckin earns an estimated $500,000 annually for his appointment by Toms River Mayor Maurice Hill and the township council. Instead of attending the contentious Toms River council meetings where lawsuits and allegations of wrongdoing are being brought up nearly every meeting, McGuckin attends meetings in Jackson Township.
His Jackson Township job is one of at least twenty public contract appointments held by McGuckin, earning his law firm nearly $1.9 million in 2019.
When asked about his conflict of interest between Toms River and Jackson, McGuckin snapped, “My schedule is none of your business.”
