CALVERT COUNTY, MD – The following are incidents reported by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the Week of December 7-13, 2020.
On December 13, 2020, Sgt. Dean was flagged down by a citizen in the area of Yardley Drive and Orwell Court in Prince Frederick, MD for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised an unknown person(s) had thrown a 12-inch wooden stick at their exterior light breaking the glass. The value of the damaged property is $50.
Theft: 2020-62769
On December 7, 2020, Deputy Ostazeski responded to Sneade’s Ace Hardware in Lusby, MD for the report of a theft. Upon Deputy Ostazeski’s arrival, he made contact with the on-duty manager. The manager advised a customer reported he located an empty box on the shelf, which should have contained an angle cutter. After reviewing the surveillance camera, they learned the theft occurred on December 4, 2020. The value of stolen property is $130.
Theft: 2020-62775
On December 8, 2020, Deputy Durnbaugh responded to the ARC of Southern Maryland in Prince Frederick, MD for a report of tampering with vehicles. The complainant advised an unknown subject(s) removed catalytic converters off three of their vehicles. The value of stolen property is $4,500.
Arrests:
On December 8, 2020, Deputy McDowell responded the area of Manor Court and Academy Dr. in Owings, MD for a suspicious vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle was identified as Krista Noelle Hall (29). Deputy McDowell observed a clear-cut straw and a white powdery substance in the passenger seat. While on scene with Hall Deputy McDowell was informed Hall had an active warrant. At that time, Deputy McDowell placed Hall under arrest. Hall was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Poss Paraphernalia, CDS: Poss Paraphernalia and served with her warrant.
On December 10, 2020, Deputy S. Naughton responded to Walgreens in Lusby, MD for the report of trespassing. Upon arrival, Deputy Naughton made contact with a subject later identified as Wendell Knott (47). Knott had a “No Trespass” order on file for this establishment which he was aware of prior to this event. Deputy Naughton placed Knott under arrest and transported him to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespass: Private Property.
On December 11, 2020, Deputy Parks responded to Walgreens in Lusby, MD for a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, Deputy Parks made contact with the subject later identified as Wendell Knott (47). Knott had been trespassed from the store recently and was aware of the “No Trespass” Order. Knott was standing outside the store drunk and asking customers for money as they entered the store. Deputy Parks placed Knott under arrest and transported him to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespass: Private Property and Disorderly Conduct.
On December 13, 2020, Deputy Idol advised units in the Prince Frederick area he observed a pick-up truck traveling at a high rate of speed south on Solomon’s Island Rd. Prince Frederick, MD. Deputy Plant and TFC Bauer spotted the vehicle in the area of Trasker’s Blvd. Prince Frederick, MD. The vehicle then made a U-turn onto Steeple Chase Dr. Deputy Plant and TFC Bauer activated their vehicle emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop in the McDonald’s parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Francisco Duarte (23). As Mr. Duarte opened his center console, Deputy Plant observed two unopened alcoholic beverages. Deputy Plant detected the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle as well. The occupants of the vehicle were asked to exit the vehicle and a search was conducted. Mr. Duarte told TFC Bauer he had a handgun in the vehicle. TFC Bauer began the search and located a Glock handgun and ammunition. Mr. Duarte was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Firearms-Access by Minors, Loaded Handgun in Vehicle and Handgun in Vehicle.
