VERO BEACH, FL – A South Carolina man was arrested in Vero Beach by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. According to deputies, officers were responding to a suspicious vehicle which lead to drugs and weapons confiscated. On January 3rd, at around 9 a.m., authorities responded to the 2500 block of 46th Road after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle. They found Matthew Neavitt, 27, sitting in the driver’s seat. As he exited, a .38 revolver was visible between the seat and the center console. A narcotics scale was found on Neavitt, as well as a spent .38 casing. Neavitt faces charges of possession of a firearm and ammo by a convicted felon, possession of Methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also, his bond was revoked for a battery charge.
Neavitt is on probation out of South Carolina and is a convicted felon. A small baggie of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine pipe, used syringes, and one loaded syringe were located in the cab area. Also found in the car was an AK47 with two magazines, additional loose rounds in the trunk.
