New Haven Police Investigating Double Homicide

NEW HAVEN, CT – On Sunday, New Haven Police responded to the grisly discovery of a man and woman, both dead at their Winthrop Avenue home. As New Haven Police continue to investigate the death of the two victims, those deaths are now being investigated as a double homicide.

On Sunday, January 10, personnel from the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) removed the deceased from Winthrop Avenue. As of Monday morning, officers continue to hold a crime scene at the Winthrop Avenue location.  Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6304. Callers may remain anonymous.

Just before 11:30 am on Sunday, New Haven Police and Fire responded to the residence after a 911 caller reported finding two severely injured persons inside the home.


NHPD Major Crimes detectives and Bureau of Identification forensic detectives responded to the location and are canvassing the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6304. Callers may remain anonymous.
