Four charged for dealing heroin and cocaine in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Detectives assigned to the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section conducted investigations resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of guns, drugs, and cash.

On January 12, Detectives Anthony Abrams and Nicholas Berardis were conducting surveillance in the 1000 block of Brigantine Boulevard in reference to citizen complaints regarding the possession and distribution of narcotics. During their investigation, they conducted a motor vehicle stop resulting in the arrest of Naheem Prater and Hameed Owens. Prater was found in possession of more than 11 grams of heroin and a loaded handgun was located where he was sitting. Owens was found in possession of more than 8 grams of heroin and more than 7 grams of cocaine.

On January 13, a residential search warrant was executed in the 1500 block of Caspian Place resulting in the arrest of Robert Taylor and Tyhesha Wilson. Inside the residence, detectives located 2,100 bags of heroin, 15 grams of cocaine, 54 grams of marijuana, items used for the packaging and distribution of narcotics, and nearly $10,000 in cash.
The month-long investigation was led by Detective Alberto Valles.


ARRESTED: Naheem Prater, 19, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS. Prater was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

ARRESTED: Hameed Owens, 21, of Mays Landing, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS (two counts) and possession with intent to distribute CDS.  Owens was released on a summons with a future court date.

ARRESTED: Robert Taylor, 37, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS (three counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone (two counts), possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and money laundering.  Taylor was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

ARRESTED: Tyhesha Wilson, 35, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS (three counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone (two counts), possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and money laundering.Wilson was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
