Police say dead body dragged onto train tracks was Columbus’ 16th homicide of 2021

COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus, Ohio is experiencing a surge in murders in 2021 after police today reported the 16th homicide in the first 15 days of the year.

Thursday night at 11 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of 1199 Sullivant Ave, on what appeared to be a body that was dragged onto the railroad tracks, in the rear of 1185 Sullivant Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located a male who was unresponsive. He was pronounced deceased at 11:16 pm.

“At this time, the motive for this incident is still unclear,” the department said. “The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time until a positive identification and next of kin notification can be made.”
