Woman broke into family’s home to make eggs and coffee while children slept

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL – Saturday morning deputies responded to an Interlachen residence after the homeowner said an unknown woman broke into her house and was drinking coffee.

The homeowner had gone to work, leaving her three children ages 16, 10 and 7 asleep.

The 16-year-old awoke and called her mom at about 9 a.m. to say a woman was in the kitchen. The homeowner left her job and found Wendy Kaufrman inside the home, “actively drinking coffee.”

Apparently hungry, Kaufman also made herself breakfast with eggs. The homeowner told Kaufman to leave and she responded, “not without her daughters,” referring to the children in the home. There is no family connection. Kaufman went outside and waiting on the porch for law enforcement to arrive.

Kaufman was arrested and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling. She was taken to the Putnam County Jail and held on $5,000 bond where she is receiving breakfast, lunch and dinner. No word on how she likes her eggs.
