COLUMBUS, OH – On May 16, 2021, at 2:43 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of W. Broad St. and S. Harris Ave. on the report of a shooting. The victim, 19-year-old Dillion Cornette, stated that while he was waiting to turn left into the Sunoco Gas Station at 2725 W. Broad St. a dark-colored SUV passed him.
An occupant of the SUV fired a weapon at the vehicle Cornette was driving, striking him with multiple rounds. Cornette was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. He stated he is not willing to prosecute a suspect if one is developed in this case. This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with info is asked to contact Det.
