Jersey Shore University Medical Center Holds Drive–Thru BBQ for EMS Teams

Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center team members, nurses, and leaders served dozens of EMS teams and other first responders; police and fire departments, emergency management, complimentary boxed dinners May 19 in recognition of National EMS Week, May 16-22. The BBQ meals were provided drive-thru style to maintain social distancing as the teams arrived at the academic medical center in their emergency vehicles, MICU rigs and police cars.

“We always celebrate EMS Week, we have a great partnership with all first responders. They are part of our health care family,” says Ellen Angelo, DNP, MSN, R.N., CCRN, chief nursing officer, Jersey Shore University Medical Center. “We wanted to show our appreciation, for their dedication to our community, with this event.”
