Bay County deputies seize six pounds of meth

BAY COUNTY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the seizure of six and a half pounds of crystal methamphetamine, a pound and a half of a heroin/fentanyl mixture, a firearm, and more than $28,000 in US currency. One local man has been charged with this seizure.

On June 3rd, 2021, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division served a search warrant at a residence in eastern Bay County. During the search of that residence, investigators located approximately four ounces of crystal methamphetamine and a stolen firearm. Further investigation revealed information about the possibility of a large amount of drugs hidden in a storage unit in the Callaway area.

Investigators found that storage unit and were able to seize approximately six and a half pounds of crystal methamphetamine, one and a half pounds of a heroin/fentanyl mixture, several hundred counterfeit 30mg Oxycodone, and approximately $28,800 in US currency. Investigators charged Joseph D Rogers, Jr. in connection with the seized drugs, cash, and firearm.


Rogers is currently in the Bay County Jail for prior drug trafficking charges. Joseph D Rogers Jr., age 30, was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Heroin, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Unlawful use of a Two-Way Communication Device, Tampering with Evidence.
