Armed teen carjacker robbed church van delivering meals to children, he was serious

COLUMBUS, OH – On September 25, 2021, at 4:20 pm, the 63-year-old victim was in front of the St. Dominic Church in the 400 block of N. 20th Ave. handing out food in backpacks to children. As she was opening her car door, the suspect walked up with a handgun and demanded her car keys.

The victim was surprised and the suspect fired a round in the air and said “I’m serious.”

The suspect took the keys, got in the car and drove off towards Atcheson St. Responding officers found a shell casing in front of 440 N. 20th Ave.


The victim told officers she took a picture of the suspect. It appears he had walked around and observed her before he robbed her at gunpoint.

She described the suspect as a black male, approximately 14 years old (Possibly 14-18), 5’3-5’4 tall, thin build, wearing a grey OSU sweat shirt, denim pants (with cargo pockets) and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
