Man charged for Halloween damage of news satellite dish that interrupted coverage in Panama City

BAY COUNTY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in a Criminal Mischief case today involving damaged broadcasting equipment at WJHG-TV, Channel 7 on Panama City Beach. The damage was done on October 31, 2021, when a WJHG employee discovered a white male outside near the damaged equipment. The station had just begun to experience a break in network feeds. The man fled the scene.

BCSO Criminal Investigations made an arrest in the case. Arrested was Nicholas Allen Johnson, age 51, of Sonya Circle on Panama City Beach. He was charged with Criminal Mischief. Additional charges are possible.
