Police seeking help to identify suspect in armed robbery

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the October 17 and October 25 armed robberies of a business located in the 12000 block of Parklawn Dr. in Rockville. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.   

On October 17, at approximately 12:40 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.     

The investigation by detectives determined that the employee was working behind the counter when the suspect entered the business and demanded money while displaying the silver handgun that he had concealed in his waistband. The suspect then removed cash from a cash register and demanded other items from the business. The employee handed over the items to the suspect. The suspect exited the store with the stolen items and fled the scene on foot.   


On October 25, at approximately 5:25 a.m., the same suspect entered the same business and approached the employee who was working behind the counter. The suspect showed the employee the silver handgun in his waistband and requested cash and property from the business. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect removed cash from the cash registers, exited the store and fled the scene on foot.   

Detectives believe that the same suspect committed both commercial armed robberies.
