Carjackings increased 80% in Philadelphia in 2021

PHILADELPHIA, PA – In 2021, 685 people have been carjacked as of December 5th. Some of those carjackings were violent and others fatal. Many victims were held up at gunpoint. In 2020, there were 410 carjackings in the city, compared to just 225 in 2019, representing an 80% increase.
