One shot and killed during driveway argument

AUSTIN, TX – On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at approximately 9:46 p.m., 911 received multiple shots fired calls in the 8100 block of Elkhorn Mountain Trail. Austin Police Department (APD) officers along with Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on the scene and discovered a man with obvious trauma lying in the roadway. Despite lifesaving measures, the individual was pronounced deceased at 10:06 p.m. by Dr. Pickett. The man has been identified as Cristofer Acevedo.
 
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to the scene to interview witnesses and process the scene. Through investigation, homicide detectives believe an altercation took place at a vehicle in the driveway of a residence that ended in gunshots being exchanged. Two suspects wearing masks fled the scene on foot after the shooting. Detectives believe robbery was the motive.   
 
On January 6, 2022, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death as gunshot wound and the manner, homicide.
