Mass. State Police Warn Residents to Stay Home Unless Necessary During Storm

Adam Devine

BOSTON, MA – The Massachusetts State Police are advising residents to use caution as a dangerous snowstorm bears down on the region.

THE MPD statement reads as follows:

With a large winter storm on approach, we wanted to re-share our last big storm post and list a few safety suggestions to go with it. We request that you only leave your home if you absolutely must. If that is the case, you should clean off your vehicles and drive slowly or try to use public transportation. No matter the mode of transportation you should expect delays. At times visibility may be low so keep your eyes on the road. Please stay aware of the plows and do not crowd them, allow them space to work. It would be a good idea to have a blanket, flashlight, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency in your car. In your home, you should ensure your smoke and CO2 detectors work properly, have batteries, flashlights/candles, and charge your phones. Another important reminder is, if possible, please check on your vulnerable neighbor’s wellbeing.
