One killed in early morning shooting in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Overnight on Sunday morning, at 12:56 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting along the 5700 block of Weatherford Road.

Officers and medical personnel arrived on the scene and located one male who had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation by members of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
