Mr. Nuernberg had been featured as the “Fugitive of the
Week” on April 28th. Nuernberg was being sought by the Strafford County

being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft. The “Fugitive of the
Week” was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua
Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information,
the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on
the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week” continues to be a very
successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500
fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive
of the Week” was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers
in New Hampshire.

On April 28th, “Fugitive of the Week,” Mathew
Eric Nuernberg, 27 years-of-age who was last known to reside in
Rochester, NH was located by an alert NH State Trooper on Whitehouse
Road in Rochester. While on patrol, the trooper had observed a male
dressed in purple riding a bike towing a wagon. The male riding in the
wagon was known by the Trooper to have an outstanding Somersworth Police
Department warrant and was arrested without incident. During further
investigation by the Trooper, he requested the bike rider’s name and was
provided a false name. This male was eventually identified using his
tattoos as “Fugitive of the Week” Matthew Nuernberg. Mr. Nuernberg was
transported to the Strafford County Jail for processing and holding
pending a court appearance regarding his bail violations in the
Strafford County Superior Court.

U.S. Marshal, Nick Willard said,
“Law enforcement is truly a group effort, it takes help from the public,
the media, along with the men and women of law enforcement.” Willard
continued, “We are grateful to everyone that continues to support law
enforcement and their efforts to keep the public safe.”
