NH – The U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task
Force is very happy to announce that this week’s “Fugitive of the Week”,
Stefan Robert Ingerson, was arrested by the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force
shortly before noon in Manchester.
Mr. Ingerson had been featured
as the “Fugitive of the Week” just this morning. Ingerson was being
sought by the U.S. Marshals after he was recently indicted in U.S.
District Court in Concord, NH on charges of possession with intent to
distribute controlled substances. The “Fugitive of the Week” was aired
on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch,
Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink
Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The
“Fugitive of the Week” continues to be a very successful tool that has
resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its
implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week” was
distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.
After multiple days of searching by the fugitive task force,
“Fugitive of the Week,” Stefan Robert Ingerson, 32 years-of-age, who was
last known to be homeless in Manchester, NH, was found near a motel on
Brown Avenue in the city. Members of the task force observed Ingerson
leave the hotel and get into a car. This car was stopped by law
enforcement prior to it leaving the parking lot. Mr. Ingerson was
arrested without incident.
Mr. Ingerson was transported to the
Strafford County Jail for processing and holding pending his initial
court appearance. This court appearance will be conducted at the U.S.
District Court in Concord, NH via video due to the ongoing Covid
precautions in place.
This investigation and arrest was made by
several member agencies that make up the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint
Fugitive Task Force, including; Belknap, Rockingham and Strafford County
Sheriff’s Offices, the Greenfield Police Department, Federal Protective
Service along with deputy US Marshals.
Since the inception of the
U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these
partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of
12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder,
assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and
numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals
Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in
94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task
forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
