Newark Police Investigating Armed Robbery

NEWARK, NJ – On Wednesday, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara published a request for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an armed business robbery that occurred on Saturday, April 9th.

According to Director O’Hara, “At approximately 3:30 a.m., police responded to Quick and Fresh, located at 625 McCarter Highway, on a call of a robbery. A male suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded that cash from the store’s registers be placed into a grocery bag. A total of $1,430.00 was stolen before the suspect fled, heading northbound on McCarter Highway, in a silver Honda Odyssey that had been reported stolen from Alpine, NJ.”

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect. He is described as African-American, dressed in all black clothing and wearing a black face mask.
