Lindenhurst, NY – Police in Lindenhurst arrested a woman who was using the United States Postal Service packages to traffic cocaine into New York from the Dominican Republic.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, a months-long narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a Lindenhurst woman, the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine and halted a drug-trafficking operation that was shipping narcotics from the Dominican Republic to the United States.
Police did not release the name of the woman.
“The narcotics were delivered to various locations in Lindenhurst and Copiague areas and Vielka Pen-Fernandez would then pick up the packages and bring them to her home. It was during one of these trips that she was stopped by police and arrested on May 13,” the department said.
Suffolk County Police Narcotics detectives worked cooperatively with the United States Postal Inspector’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations on this investigation.
