Willingboro Police Say Facebook Post About Attacks Unfounded

WILLINGBORO, NJ – Police in Willingboro say a post spreading on social media regarding attacks by two men is false.

“The Willingboro Township Police Department has been made aware of a social media post depicting two males. This post claims the two individuals are responsible for attacks in or around Willingboro, one attack being with a knife,” the department said.

The department said it has not had any such attacks reported, or have we been made aware of any in surrounding communities.

“Please be mindful sharing posts like this could cause false public alarm,” the department said. “While we always encourage residents and visitors to exercise good personal safety measures, the spreading of false information such as this causes undue concern. As a police department, the safety of our community is priority number one. If there were a danger to the public, we would let you know as soon as possible.”

If you should see something suspicious, immediately call 911.
