Police Searching for Man Who Attacked Dunkin Donuts Restaurant in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – A Newark man who attacked a Dunkin Donuts with a wooden object, shattering a window in June is being sought by police today.

Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Davion Sumler, 34, of Newark, who is wanted in connection with an incident of criminal mischief that occurred on Wednesday, June 22.

“Police responded to Dunkin Donuts, located at 802 South Orange Avenue, on a call of a man throwing objects at the attendant in the drive-thru window. The suspect also drove around to the store’s front entrance and hit its window with a wooden object, causing the window to shatter,” police said. “Detectives investigating this incident have identified Sumler, also known as Nafir Sumler, as a suspect and request the public’s help in locating him as part of their investigation.”


He is described as 6-ft. tall and 240 to 280 pounds, with a medium brown complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.
