Franklin Township Police Report Porch Piracy, Fires, and Cat Thieves

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Franklin Township police reported several instances of package thefts across town and several fires last week.

On Tuesday, a resident reported the theft of a package from her porch located on Poe Ave. during the late morning hours. The suspects are described as an unknown male and a white male on bicycles. The contents of the package were valued at $52.00.

Later, another resident reported the theft of a package from her porch located on Hawthorne Dr. during the late morning hours. The suspects are described as an unknown male and a white male on bicycles. The contents of the package were valued at $80.00.


Also on Tuesday, a Somerset resident was the victim of telephonic fraud, which resulted in a loss of $5,500.00 worth of purchased gift cards. Limited information is known about the suspect(s) at time of report. 

On Wednesday, local fire companies extinguished a house fire on Baier Ave. without incident. The cause of fire was deemed non-suspicious. No one was injured.

On Thursday, local fire companies extinguished a garage fire without incident on Hamilton St. The cause of fire was deemed non-suspicious. No one was injured.

Roberto A. Davila, 52, of New Brunswick, NJ was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Middlesex County. He was processed and transported to Middlesex County Jail. 

On Friday, a business located on Somerset St. reported a theft of service by a black female and a Hispanic female. The suspects left the business without paying for $300.00 worth of nail kits during the afternoon hours.

The Somerset bicycle package thief returned. A resident reported the theft of a package from her porch located on Ambrose St. during the afternoon hours. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male on a bicycle. The contents of the package were valued at $70.00.

Later, another resident reported the theft a package from her porch located on Kossuth St. during the afternoon hours. The suspect is described as a white male on a bicycle. The contents of the package were valued at $185.00.

A Somerset resident reported the theft of a catalytic converter from his vehicle during the evening hours in the area of Yaworsky Way. The part, valued at $200.00, was cut from underneath the vehicle by an unknown suspect(s).
