NESCOPECK, PA – A house fire killed 10 people last week in Nescopeck last week. Harold Baker, a firefighter arriving on the scene at the fire quickly realized those victims included members of his family, including his son, daughter, father-in-law, sister-in-law, three grandchildren and two others.

On Saturday, tragedy struck again when a car drove through a crowd during a fundraiser for the family being held at the Intoxicology Department bar in Berwick at around 6:15 pm.

Police say the driver, Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes drove through the crowd gathered at West Second Street in Berwick Borough.

Pennsylvania State Troopers arrived on the scene to find one person dead and 17 injured. Later, police received calls about a man beating a woman in Shickshinny. That woman was found dead, but the suspect turned out to be Oswaldo Sura Reyes, who was the suspect in the earlier fatal crash.

At this time police do not know whether the murder or incident at the bar are related, or if they are related to the fundraiser.

On Friday, members of Firefighter Baker’s family were laid to rest.

This morning Oswaldo Sura Reyes was arraigned for two counts of criminal homicide.
