NEW YORK, NY – A suspected carjacker was arrested in Queens after a vehicle crashed into a KFC restaurant. According to police, at the time of the crash, the owner of the car was still inside the car.

The incident was captured on a nearby cell phone video as New York City police officers pulled the man from the stolen vehicle and made an arrest.

The incident began shortly after 2 pm when a shoplifting incident was reported at the Rite-Aid store on Union Turnpike. As police moved in, the shoplifting suspect was observed by police entering a parked car near Parson’s Boulevard.

The suspect attempted to pull the driver, a 57-year-old man, from the car, but the car accelerated and crashed into the KFC-Pizza Hut restaurant across the street. Police quickly moved in to make an arrest.
