Baltimore pastor charged for child abuse from 40 years ago

BALTIMORE, MD – A Baltimore area pastor has been arrested and charged after multiple allegations of child abuse and sexual assaults from 1984 to 1985.  59-year-old Thomas J Brackett was a teacher and youth pastor who has been accused by two former students, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

“Baltimore County Crimes Against Children detectives began investigating this case earlier this year after they were notified of the abuse. Brackett faces multiple charges of Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Offenses,” the department said in a statement today.

 Brackett is currently lodged in the Georgetown County Detention Center in South Carolina pending extradition to Maryland.
