JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – The National Weather Service has positively confirmed a tornado in Jackson Township. The strength of the tornado was not known at this time, and the NWS is currently investigating.

The NWS will investigate a swath of damage from Trenton to Howell Township along the suspect path of the tornado.

No further details were released at this time. The NWS said it would release additional findings later tonight.

In Jackson, which appears to have been hardest hit by the tornado, nearly 10,000 homes remain without power and roads remain closed across the township.

A Jackson Township woman captured what she claims is the tornado as it passed through the northern section of the township. The storm also damaged the new multi-million dollar Adventure Crossing dome.
