Elderly man victim of strong-armed robbery in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY – The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in an elderly robbery that occurred within the 52nd Precinct on Saturday. The 68-year-old male victim was entering his residential building near East 199 Street and Briggs Avenue when the unidentified male approached him from behind and pushed him to the ground.

The suspect then forcibly removed the victim’s wallet, which contained an unspecified amount of cash and personal identification.

The elderly victim suffered minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical services. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.


The male suspect is described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers.

The NYPD has released surveillance photos and is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
