Harrisburg Police Arrest Man for Violating Protection Order

Robert Walker

HARRISBURG, PA – Yesterday, Harrisburg Police officers responded to a Protection from Abuse (PFA) violation report at a residence located in the 2200 block of Jefferson Street. Upon their arrival, the officers heard a single gunshot fired from the address in question.

The police made contact with the residents of the address and observed a male, later identified as William Gardner, attempting to flee the area and enter an adjacent property.

The residents informed officers that Gardner had broken into the victim’s residence and was not permitted to have contact with them due to an active PFA order. It was also revealed that one of the victims fired a shot towards Gardner when he tried to gain access to their house. Although the shot missed, it was enough to make Gardner flee the scene.

After surrounding the address that Gardner had entered, officers were able to safely apprehend him. Gardner now faces charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, stalking, terroristic threats, and a PFA violation.

Authorities are requesting anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Harrisburg Police at 717-558-6900 or submit tips via the CRIMEWATCH website.
