CUMBERLAND, MD – Nathaniel Lee Barnes, 33, was arrested yesterday, after creating a disturbance outside a residence in the 1500 block of Oldtown Road. Witnesses, including the occupants of the residence and multiple neighbors, reported that Barnes was yelling and causing a commotion.

The subject then approached the residence, opened the door, and entered the home without the occupants’ permission.

As a result of the investigation, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department arrested Barnes and charged him with fourth-degree burglary and disorderly conduct. He was transported to Police Headquarters, where he was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance.

Barnes was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is currently being held on a temporary commitment. The incident serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
