BALTIMORE, MD- A Baltimore resident who frequently plays Lottery games recently experienced a stroke of luck when his loyalty to Powerball paid off with a $100,000 prize. The retired computer specialist, is known for playing an assortment of Lottery games. He always includes a Powerball ticket in his purchases, and this time, it proved to be a wise decision.

Recalling the fortunate turn of events, the 72-year-old winner shared, “I’m friendly with several of the owners of the places where I buy tickets. When I stopped by the Tobacco Outlet, I joined my friend as he celebrated, having sold a big Powerball winner in his store. He was very excited.” Little did he know that his own ticket held an even bigger surprise just 15 minutes later.

“After a while, I asked the clerk to check my tickets, and the look on his face told me something big was coming,” he explained. To everyone’s surprise, it turned out that he had been carrying the winning ticket in his pocket all along. The excitement in the store reached new heights as both the winner and the owner celebrated their unexpected fortune. However, the real excitement awaited him when he returned home and shared the news with his wife.

The couple had been discussing a potential move to a retirement community, and their plans received a significant boost thanks to their luck in the April 29 Powerball drawing. Overwhelmed with joy, the winner’s wife exclaimed, “I’ve never seen so many zeros!”

In the drawing, the Powerball loyalist matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball number. By spending an additional dollar on the Power Play multiplier option, which is available for the thrice-weekly game, his $50,000 prize was doubled thanks to the 2X Power Play multiplier. The winning ticket was purchased from Discount Tobacco Outlet located at 2537 Putty Hill Avenue in Parkville.

As the jackpot continues to grow, with no winner since April, there is still time for players to get their Powerball tickets for the upcoming drawing on Wednesday, May 17. The estimated annuity for the jackpot stands at an impressive $146 million, with a cash option of approximately $78.2 million.
