NYC Man slashed in Memorial park attack

NEW YORK, NY – Police in Lower Manhattan are searching for a suspect wanted for a brutal knife-slashing attack inside a park in the Bowery section of the city on Memorial Dal

On Monday afternoon, a 24-year-old male was attacked and injured by an unidentified assailant in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, situated across from 68A Forsyth Street. The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. when the victim became the target of an unexpected act of violence.

Police confirmed the incident was unprovoked.


According to the police report, the assailant approached the victim and, without warning, delivered a forceful punch to his face. In addition to the punch, the attacker slashed the victim’s arm multiple times using an unknown object. Following the assault, the assailant fled the scene on a black bicycle, heading westbound on Hester Street.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and promptly transported the male victim to Bellevue Hospital for immediate medical attention.

He was listed in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
