Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department and Atlantic City Beach Patrol have apprehended a man after he allegedly engaged in inappropriate touching of several females.

On Sunday, at approximately 5:11 PM, Officers Deborah Gilmore and Marquez Jones promptly responded to a report at the New Hampshire Avenue beach regarding a man behaving inappropriately towards several teenagers.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered that Atlantic City Beach Patrol Captain Jamie Torres had already detained Rojer Gomez. Numerous witnesses and victims reported incidents where Gomez had touched teenage girls or women while they were in the ocean.

Three victims, aged 16, 16, and 15, came forward and provided statements alleging that Gomez would swim near them and, when a wave approached, he would submerge himself and touch them on their inner thigh or buttocks areas.

Based on the information gathered, Gomez was subsequently placed under arrest.

The individual taken into custody has been identified as Rojer Gomez, a 29-year-old resident of Philadelphia.

Gomez now faces multiple charges, including three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and two counts of criminal sexual contact.

Following his arrest, Gomez was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending further legal proceedings. It is important to note that all charges against him are mere allegations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Atlantic City Police Department believes there may be additional victims involved. Anyone with relevant information is strongly encouraged to come forward and assist law enforcement in their efforts to bring justice to all affected individuals. Those with information can contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766 or submit an anonymous text to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with “ACPD.”
