PHILADELPHIA, PA – Four people were killed and two were injured in a shooting incident on Monday night in Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man, was apprehended and had no apparent connection to the victims. He was found in possession of a bullet-proof vest and a police scanner.

Another individual was taken into custody, but it is unclear if they were connected to the shooter. Police believe this person may have returned fire.

During the investigation, three guns were recovered from the scene, including a rifle and a handgun that belonged to the suspect. The deceased victims, all male, ranged in age from 20 to 59 years old. The fourth victim was estimated to be between 16 and 21 years old.

The two injured individuals, aged two and thirteen, were in stable condition.

The shooting occurred in the Kingsessing section of southwest Philadelphia, near the Schuylkill River. WPVI video footage showed police vehicles parked near an intersection, with flashing lights and sections of the street cordoned off with crime-scene tape.

This incident took place one day after a shooting at an outdoor neighborhood block party in Baltimore, Maryland, where two people were killed and 28 others, including children, were injured. Authorities in Baltimore are still searching for multiple suspects related to that shooting.
