CLIFTON, NJ – During the past week, a notable upsurge in vehicle thefts and burglaries has been observed in the area bordered north and south by Livingston Street and Chittenden Road. In an incident this morning, where officers interrupted a vehicle theft in progress on Anderson Drive, the suspects used what is suspected to be a stolen vehicle to ram the patrol unit, fleeing the scene via the sidewalk.

Residents are urged to lock their car doors and not leave key fobs in or near their vehicles. Most of these incidents are taking place between 4 AM and 6 AM, although there have been occurrences during daylight hours. It is advised not to confront anyone involved in these incidents, as they may be armed. Instead, call 911 immediately if suspicious activity is observed.
