Hyde Park Man Arrested for Firearms Offense in Roxbury

ROXBURY, MA – Michael Majors, 34, of Hyde Park, was arrested by officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) early Saturday, around 1:43 am on charges related to firearms. Officers, patrolling near 85 Warren Street, attempted to assist Majors, the operator of a moped involved in a possible hit and run, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Majors began to walk away from the officers while fumbling with an object in his sweatshirt pocket.

After a brief foot pursuit and struggle, a firearm fell from Majors’ sweatshirt. Majors was then safely apprehended and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Receiving Stolen Property, Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Resisting Arrest. He is set to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
