Retired Bus Driver Wins Million Dollar Lottery

Windsor Mill, MD – A simple and loyal player’s adherence to using the same randomly selected numbers on Mega Millions tickets has finally paid off, turning him into a millionaire. The retiree, who has been using this strategy for as long as he can remember, experienced a life-changing moment when the July 18 drawing awarded him a remarkable $1 million windfall.

The 68-year-old Windsor Mill resident purchased his winning ticket at National Pike BP, located at 5931 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. The fateful day when he stopped at the gas station for fuel, he also decided to buy several Lottery tickets, including the winning Mega Millions ticket. A few days later, while checking his stack of old Lottery tickets at another gas station that sells Lottery games, he was in for a pleasant surprise. Scanning through the non-winning tickets, he discovered that his very last Mega Millions ticket from the recent drawing held the coveted $1 million second-tier prize.

“I kept staring at the ticket because I just couldn’t believe it,” the fortunate winner exclaimed. Feeling overwhelmed with emotions and not wanting to draw attention, he discreetly put the ticket back into his pocket and quietly left the store. Excited to share the life-changing news, he immediately called his daughter, but she initially thought he was joking. It wasn’t until they arrived at Lottery headquarters together to claim the prize that the reality sank in for everyone.

The ecstatic winner retired from his job as a bus driver a few years ago, and for now, he doesn’t have any immediate plans for his winnings other than putting the prize into his savings. As he continues to savor his newfound millionaire status, National Pike BP, the fortunate Lottery retailer, also celebrates this extraordinary win. The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket, making the joyous moment even more special.
