Man Wanted for Rahway Sexual Assault, Forced Entry Arrested in Staten Island

RAHWAY, NJ – Elijah Finis, an 18-year-old Woodbridge resident, has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a Rahway resident.

Last Thursday, around 11:00 a.m., Rahway Police Officers responded to a report on the 2000 block of Elizabeth Avenue. On meeting with the victim, officers learned that she had been assaulted by an unknown male who had entered her residence unlawfully.

Finis has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal trespass. Two days after the incident, on Saturday, Finis surrendered to the NYPD’s 120th station in Staten Island. Currently, he is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.


The Rahway Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit are leading this investigation with assistance from Linden Police Department and New York City Police Department.
